Our favorite gumbo in the city by Alice's Southern Comfort is poppin' up at four women-owned restaurants across LA County. Chef Kimberly Velazco, who runs her catering business out of Pasadena (and aspires to open her first restaurant SOON!), honors her Louisiana-bred grandmother Alice with two types of made-with-love gumbo: classic seafood or chicken & sausage.
